Hearing Protection Fit Testing
ABOUT
Hearing Protection Fit testing is a preventative measure that helps to mitigate the risk of Noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL). It also ensures that the hearing protection being worn by the worker is accurate to the noise level being worked in, as well as ensures an accurate fit for the wearer.

HOW IT WORKS
SureHire offers qualitative fit testing at select locations for any model or brand of earmuffs. Employers or workers can bring their personal earmuffs in for fit testing as long as the brand/model and NRR can be communicated accurately to the test administrator.
The qualitative fit testing process involves the presentation of a tone that’s comprised of bands of random noise centred at 1000 Hz, mirroring the sound utilised in conventional hearing protector assessments such as the “American National Standard Methods for Measuring the Real-Ear Attenuation of Hearing Protectors” (ANSI S12.6).
Amplify is SureHire’s innovative, in-house technology for quantitative hearing protection fit testing. By delivering precise, measurable results, it gives employers the insights they need to protect employees’ hearing effectively. Currently available at select Power Centre locations, the service will be expanding to more facilities in the near future.
