SureHire explains Fluorescence

Fluorescence occurs naturally in many situations but in the workplace it is most often used in conjunction with drug testing. Fluorescence is used in fluorescent immunoassay tests to allow technicians to detect the presence of drug metabolites in a sample. In this type of testing, a fluorescent agent is added to the antigen, and the reaction of the agent with an analyte results in a fluorescence that can be detected and measured by the testing equipment.
