An employer’s human resource management system serves as a repository of much of the employer’s data on past and present employees. Applications, transfers, payroll and termination records may all be stored electronically in such a system. In addition, sophisticated HRSM software allows employers to analyze a wide range of data regarding the employer’s workforce. This data may be used to project future hiring needs or track absenteeism, along with other metrics. Most employers use some form of human resource management system for at least a portion of the employer’s workforce management tasks. Ideally, the HRSM may be utilized by human resource managers to organize and maximize the workforce.
