SureHire explains Shiatsu

Like other energy bodywork therapies, Shiatsu massage seeks to address the health of the person’s vital energy. This energy is referred to as qi in Japan. Practitioners believe that by stimulating the body’s pressure points a person’s internal energy flow can be corrected and realigned. The combined use of massage and energy flow changes are designed to bring about improved mental and physical health.

The purpose of a Shiatsu treatment is to not only relax and improve muscle health but to also balance the energy of the person receiving treatment.
