Department of Transportation (DOT) Oral Fluid Collector Training *NEW

Prerequisites: DOT Urine Collector Training

Skills you will learn:

  • Prepare the collection site and donor for an oral fluid specimen collection
  • Perform an oral fluid collection in accordance with DOT regulations
  • Correctly complete a DOT Oral Fluid Specimen Custody and Control Form
  • Navigate problem collections in accordance with DOT regulations

 

Please note, at this time there are no devices approved by the Department of Transportation for oral fluid specimen collection. An approved device is necessary for proficiency testing, which is required for DOT oral fluid specimen collection certification. This proficiency testing must be completed within 30-days of the course final exam. As a result, once you purchase this course you will be placed in a virtual line-up on a first-come first-serve basis. Once one or more devices are approved by the DOT, and made available, the final exam will come online. You will receive a notification from SureHire regarding the release of the exam, and scheduling your proficiency test within the 30-day time window.

Department of Transportation (DOT) Breath Alcohol Technician Training

Skills you will learn:

  • Describe breath analysis for alcohol content.
  • Explain the Evidentiary Breath Tester (EBT) methodology, operation, calibration and calibration checks.
  • Explain the DOT workplace alcohol testing program.
  • Demonstrate the procedures for obtaining a breath sample and interpreting and recording EBT results.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in operating the EBT that you will be using for testing.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in performing calibrations and calibration checks on the EBT that you will be using for testing.

Department of Transportation (DOT) Urine Collector Training

Skills you will learn:

  • Explain the DOT Urine Collector training requirements
  • Prepare a collection site for testing
  • Accurately complete a custody and control form
  • Complete a urine collection for DOT testing

USA Non-DOT Urine Collector Training

Skills you will learn:

  • List the requirements and criteria that must be met to collect an acceptable urine specimen.
  • Accurately and efficiently complete a urine specimen collection and administer a point-of-care test in accordance with SureHire standards.
  • Explain the three SureHire drug testing log procedures.
  • Effectively manage potential obstacles to testing.

DOT Designated Employer Representative (DER) Awareness Training

Skills you will learn:

  • List the government agencies that manage different aspects of the drug and alcohol testing industry
  • Define the role of a Designated Employer Representative
  • Describe the responsibilities of each service agent that contributes to the success of a DOT drug and alcohol testing program
  • Summarize the key components that must be covered in an employer drug and alcohol policy
  • Describe the return-to-duty process and ensure all DER responsibilities are executed as required
  • Explain the breath alcohol test procedure as well as the urine collection protocol
